Project title: Heartwood Flames
Project Description: Inspired by Ancient Egyptian water vessels and using a sycamore heartwood, Alexander created a vessel with an outer form that resembles a dancing fire. He enjoyed the contrast between the fire-like aesthetics, created by spalted grain, and the function of the object, to hold water which can extinguish fire.
